Position: Retail Manager

Salary: $80,000 to $85,000 per annum plus 12% superannuation

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Business

Del Hotel Pty Ltd T/A Sopo Brewing operates a hospitality venue in Southport, Queensland, offering food, beverages and a welcoming environment for customers to dine and socialise. The business provides a varied bistro menu, regular food specials and services catering to different customer preferences and occasions.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Retail Manager to oversee the venue’s day-to-day commercial and service operations, manage staff and stock, coordinate purchasing and promotional activities, and maintain efficient business performance while delivering a positive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily venue operations, ensuring efficient service delivery, appropriate product availability and consistent customer service standards across food and beverage offerings.
• Determine suitable menu and beverage product ranges, monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment in line with customer demand and business requirements.
• Manage purchasing activities, liaise with suppliers, negotiate ordering requirements where appropriate, and monitor product costs to support profitability.
• Develop and implement pricing, promotional and marketing initiatives, including food specials and beverage promotions, to attract customers and increase sales.
• Assist customers with menu and beverage selections, respond to enquiries and complaints, and ensure service issues are resolved professionally.
• Monitor sales revenue, stock movements, operating expenses and financial records, and contribute to budgeting and performance reviews.
• Recruit, train, supervise and roster employees to maintain adequate staffing, effective teamwork and efficient service during operating hours.
• Monitor customer feedback, service standards and venue presentation, implementing improvements to support customer satisfaction and repeat business.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, responsible service of alcohol obligations where applicable, food safety standards and relevant business procedures.
• Coordinate operational priorities across service areas to maintain an organised, safe and welcoming environment for customers and staff.

Qualification

• Tertiary qualification in Business Management, Hospitality Management, Retail Management or a related field.

Skills and Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of relevant management experience in hospitality, food and beverage service, retail operations or a similar customer-facing business.
• Experience managing staff, stock, purchasing, customer service and day-to-day business operations.
• Strong operational management and organisational skills.
• Knowledge of stock control, purchasing, pricing and sales performance.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise, train and roster staff.
• Financial awareness and the ability to monitor costs and support business profitability.
• Understanding of workplace health and safety and relevant hospitality compliance requirements.
