Position: Diesel Motor Mechanic

Salary: $80000 per annum plus 12% superannuation

Hours: 38 hours per week

Mode: Full-time

Location: Truganina, VIC 3029

Our Client Vardan Towing & Transport is seeking an experienced Diesel Motor Mechanic to join their team located in Truganina, VIC 3029. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Tasks required include:

• Inspect, diagnose, service, maintain and repair diesel engines and associated mechanical systems, including braking, steering, suspension and transmission components.
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical faults through visual inspections, diagnostic testing, road tests and performance assessments.
• Dismantle diesel engines, assemblies and vehicle components to inspect for wear, damage, defects and mechanical failures.
• Repair, replace and adjust faulty or worn mechanical components and reassemble systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
• Interpret technical manuals, service instructions and diagnostic reports to ensure accurate and safe repair and maintenance procedures.
• Perform routine servicing and scheduled preventative maintenance, including oil and filter changes, lubrication, fluid checks and engine adjustments.
• Inspect and maintain diesel engine performance and emission control systems to ensure compliance with applicable environmental and regulatory standards.
• Test, calibrate and adjust repaired or replaced components to ensure optimal vehicle performance, reliability and operational efficiency.
• Reassemble and reinstall diesel engines, mechanical assemblies and associated vehicle systems following maintenance and repair work.
• Identify and report additional mechanical defects or repair requirements to ensure vehicles comply with roadworthiness, workplace safety and operational standards.

Qualification and Experience

• Minimum AQF Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or an equivalent relevant qualification.
• At least three years of relevant experience as a Diesel Motor Mechanic.
