Position: Animal Husbandry Technician

Salary: $79,423 to $120,000 per annum plus superannuation

Hours: 38 hours per week

Mode: Full-time

DC & S Miles Pty Ltd is seeking applicant for an Animal Husbandry Technician position to join their team located in Regional Victoria.

Animal Husbandry Technicians

Applicants must have at least a Diploma or 3 years of relevant experience.

All applicants must meet the following criteria

• Patient, Hardworking, Resourceful, Trustworthy, Loyal, Efficient
• Understanding and passion for the Dairy industry
• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Constant monitoring of the Dairy Farm.
• Sound knowledge in Farming Techniques and Management.
• Demonstrate a broad and coherent body of knowledge of milk source and composition
• In-depth understanding of the safety and quality factors that determine the acceptability of dairy products by consumers.
• To be able to work and communicate effectively as part of a team.

Duties for Animal Husbandry Technician:

• Assist with breeding, raising and managing pigs to maintain herd health and productivity.
• Develop feeding and nutrient management plans to support pig growth and reproductive performance.
• Coordinate vaccines, medications, mineral supplements and other animal health requirements.
• Organise breeding programs, including mating schedules and artificial insemination where applicable.
• Monitor pig health, growth, reproduction and farrowing activities.
• Maintain accurate records of breeding, treatments, vaccinations and livestock performance.
• Implement biosecurity, hygiene and animal welfare practices in accordance with farm policies and quality assurance requirements.

A remuneration package is between $79,423 to $120,000 plus Superannuation will be negotiated depending on skills and experience.
